A few months ago I had covered this particular story about Jay Z and Beyonce secret wedding sometime in April of this year. It wasn’t much of a secret come to think of it, because most who were fascinated with the two, knew about the wedding before the couple even said, “I Do.” But since none of the two spoke about it in public, a lot of people wanted to know what was up. Well, Beyonce has finally revealed in Essence magazine’s November issue, that they officially got married and it was a joint decision between herself and her husband to keep things quiet.

She went on to say:

“We decide everything. My word is my word. What Jay and I have is real. It’s not about interviews or getting the right photo op. It’s real.”

When asked to talk about the juicy details on their wedding, she replied by saying,

“You’re gonna get me in trouble”

And then she started to share all the information that the public had been dying to hear about the wedding.

Beyoncé said that they had a very small and intimate wedding, because she’s not the “traditional” type of woman and having it be “her day” wasn’t something she needed. According to her, being a star and walking the red carpet has diminished the need for that over the years.

“It’s been my day so many days already”

Beyonce also didn’t want an engagement ring because,

“people put too much emphasis on that. It’s just material, and it’s just silly to me.”

Instead, she wears a band on her ring finger over a tattoo of the Roman numeral IV, which refers to her being born on Sept. 4; Jay-Z on Dec. 4; and their wedding on April 4. Jay-Z has a matching tattoo on his left hand ring finger.

The R&B diva further revealed that they plan to have kids someday. And perhaps as soon as she releases her new album in November.
